Complaints have long been ingrained in our lives. We are filled with various complaints such as, ‘Why don’t I have this?’, ‘Why am I lacking this?’, ‘Why is my life like this?’
At some point, gratitude disappeared from our lives. Even when looking around us, we have possessions but we don’t appreciate them. I strive to give thanks to my God, but it's difficult. Even with faith, gratitude isn't easy. Humans are ignorant and weak beings who quickly forget.
While taking a walk, I had this thought. Instead of asking, ‘Why don’t I have this?’, I ask, ‘Why do I have this?’ If you do this, you can overflow with gratitude. If you constantly focus on ‘Why don’t I have a house, a car, money? Why can’t I make money?’, you cannot progress. You just become exhausted.
Instead of asking ‘Why do I have this illness, this problem?’, I ask from a positive perspective. For example, if I have a car, I think, ‘Why do I have this car? I am so grateful to have a car.’ While having a car allows me to think that way, I wasn’t born with a car, so I can be thankful for it.
Such as, ‘Why do I have such a wonderful wife? Why do I have this voice? Why do I have a company and colleagues to work with? Why do I receive money every month? Why do I have healthy legs that allow me to walk well?’
By focusing on what I have and being grateful for it, I can gain resilience. Through gratitude, I purify my mind and gain new strength to move forward. I hope everyone can do the same.
