Today, "gratitude" has disappeared. There is constant complaint and dissatisfaction. Instead of overflowing with feelings of gratitude such as, "I am truly grateful," "I am still grateful," and "I can overcome this," negativity prevails with statements like, "It's ruined," "Hell Joseon (Korea)," "This life is ruined (Iseungmang)," and "I can't do it."
Many problems arise from the lack of gratitude. Although there may be room for debate, looking at things within the context of the world's principles and truths, problems can be solved through gratitude.
Men are relatively stronger than women. Therefore, they are relatively less involved in violent crimes. In such cases, men can handle each other and, due to their strength, can overcome dangerous situations better than women, thus working night shifts. Women should express their gratitude to such men.
Conversely, men should also express their gratitude to women, who are at the forefront of family values and who conceive new life through pregnancy. Let's look at the image of a mother who endures the pain of 10 months and protects precious life. It's impossible not to feel grateful.
Even if it's called "Hell Joseon," let's honestly think about people in North Korea or Africa. Even if I'm not living well in Korea now, or even if I don't have a house, how grateful I am. We have freedom, a developed infrastructure, and live in a system with fast administrative processes. Even if we are truly poor, we receive government subsidies through basic livelihood support.
Saying we should live with gratitude is not about being complacent and remaining silent about incorrect national policies or governance. It's also necessary to advocate for the right direction. It is not about the wrong directions or aspects, but about reviving the fundamental and basic gratitude of humanity.
I am grateful to my wife who prepares meals for me and works for our family. I am grateful for the ability to conceive new life. I am grateful to the government for creating loan policies that allow me to live in a good house. I am grateful to the company that gave me the opportunity to work. I am grateful to my friends who exercise with me, listen to my worries, and volunteer with me. I am grateful to my family who guided me and my teachers who taught me. I am grateful to the members of this network who inspire me as we live together in this society.
