How I Study English These Days_1

Many people study English through movies and dramas. However, while I also utilize video content, my approach is slightly different. I learn English by watching vlogs of foreigners who work as engineers, product managers, and other roles overseas.

Overseas, they often title their vlogs 'Day in the Life'. These videos offer insights into the daily routines of professionals working not only at well-known Silicon Valley tech companies but also at various other organizations across the globe.

Some creators use voiceovers, while others rely solely on subtitles. This allows for both listening and reading practice, enabling learners to pick up the vocabulary and sentence structures commonly used by native English speakers. Moreover, the words and phrases used are primarily everyday terms and include industry-specific jargon, making the learning process more relatable and accessible.

As a bonus, the scenery surrounding many of the workplaces featured in these videos is incredibly beautiful. It often inspires a sense of wonder and a desire to pursue similar opportunities. Some YouTubers showcase their companies' proximity to coastlines, including footage of their lunch breaks or after-work strolls along the beach. Such glimpses are truly enviable and fuel a desire to experience working abroad.

By watching these vlogs, I not only learn English but also find inspiration and motivation as a working professional. It's a valuable method for learning and personal growth, achieving two goals simultaneously.

Most Korean have studied how to speak in English via movies and dramas. For me, I have studied thorough a video content as well but it is quite different. Because, I am watching ‘Day in the Life’ video contents in YouTube from global people to learn English.

Globally, they said kind of personal work life as ‘Day in the Life’ which is a Vlog showing worker’s daily life in Korea. We can watch workers’ daily life as a worker who is working at famous IT companies such as Meta, Google and so on.

In the video, someone says something verbally and others just show subtitles. So, I can learn my listening and reading skills and especially, I can catch the words and sentences which people speaking in English use frequently. Also, the words and sentences are usually about daily life or career. So, I can be more familiar to English.

In addition, in the most of video, I can see beautiful mood. Their companies are usually located in nearby sea or river. So, it makes me motivated. Some YouTubers are walking around the sea when he goes to have a lunch. I am so desirable about it. So, sometime, I feel that I want to work at global sites.

As watching kind of these video contents, I am studying English and becoming motivated as a career worker. It is so valuable to learn and be grown.
