Truly, life is unpredictable. A recent car accident near the city hall claimed the lives of several people. They ranged in age from their 30s to 50s, individuals with much to contribute to the world, with a long future ahead of them. It's truly tragic.
Witnessing such an accident makes me grateful to be alive. We never know when death might come. People take it for granted that they'll grow old and die, and I've lived with that same assumption. But it's not necessarily a given.
We live within the ever-present possibility of death. We could die while walking down the street, driving, flying, or even eating. It's a rare occurrence, but every action carries with it the potential for death.
That's why I believe I should make the most of each day. While I understand that death is a part of life, I'm determined to make the most of every day. If I think that death is the end, there's no reason to do anything. However, I have goals and dreams, and a reason to live, so I will do my best today and build towards them one step at a time.
I am grateful for the ability to do things, for being alive, and for not causing sorrow to those around me through my existence. I will dedicate myself to my best with a heart full of gratitude.
